OSCAR Designations For Cute-1.7 + APD II and SEEDS II

Bill Tynan, W3XO, AMSAT OSCAR number coordinator announced a new OSCAR designation this week. Bill wrote, "Mr. Hiroki Ashida of the Laboratory for Space Systems Department of Mechano-Aerospace Engineering at the Tokyo Institute of Technology has requested an OSCAR number for Cute-1.7 + APD II and stated that it meets all of the requirements for issuance of such a number."

Bill continued, "Therefore, by the authority vested in me by the AMSAT-NA President, I hereby issue Cubesat OSCAR-65 or CO-65 to this new Amateur Radio satellite. Mr. Ashida and all who worked on Cute-1.7 + APD II are to be congratulated for the successful completion of this project. We look forward to its long and productive life."

Also, under the same guidelines, the SEEDS II satellite, designed and built by Nihon University, has been issued the OSCAR number CO-66.

AMSAT-NA is pleased to welcome CO-65 and CO-66 into the family of amateur Radio satellites. We are hopeful that they will fulfill its intended mission of furthering education and increasing interest in the Amateur Radio space program.
